I remember sitting in a corner on fall days like this.

The cold wind was biting, yet it felt so inviting

To curl up all alone in my own little space.

Sometimes I would read

Or just sit and imagine

That we were together,

Alone in some cabin,

Taking refuge in each other from the merciless weather

That threatened to swallow us whole.

I didn’t know you, and you didn’t know me,

But I would imagine myself in your arms

I didn’t know your face, but I had felt your embrace

Sheltering me from those storms.

When I went inside, I had to leave you behind,

Though you’d comforted me in the rain.

And I would wait a while until I could smile

Finding myself in your arms once again.
